Ms. Hilvert joined Lowe & Associates in February of 2013 as a litigation associate and was additionally charged with building the firm’s entertainment transactional practice. Ms. Hilvert has, and will continue to, represent screenwriters, actors, producers, directors, musicians, production companies, and publishers.
Volunteering and community involvement are also a very important part of Ms. Hilvert’s repertoire. She is an active member of the Beverly Hills Bar Association’s Entertainment Law Executive Committee. In 2012, she founded the Social Media Sub-Committee and began volunteering as a liaison between the Entertainment Law Committee and the Legislation Committee. Ms. Hilvert also serves as a legal mentor for creative activists who are members of the Creative Visions Foundation. She also volunteers with various Los Angeles animal rights organizations and has been a law student mentor through the Chapman University Career Services department since 2010. Finally, Ms. Hilvert served as the 2013-2014 Secretary for the California Society of Entertainment Lawyers (CSEL).
Since the summer of 2014, Ms. Hilvert has successfully settled three complex litigation cases and has been victorious in either bringing or defending numerous motions. For example, she successfully defended several demurrers, motions to dismiss, motions to strike, discovery motions and an anti-SLAPP motion; she also recently filed a successful motion to compel additional documents.
